Dr. Andrea Doria and her team recently completed the first in-person Qualitative Leadership Course (Clinical Practice Improvement).
The focus of the course was to provide the required tools and frameworks for participants to integrate qualitative leadership frameworks/strategies toward developing real-life projects that can promote Clinical Practice Improvement (CPi). As part of the process, the participants are expected to create a 'mindset change' strategy for the implementation of the project into their departments and imaging subspecialties, taking into account human/cultural/political components. They also should reflect upon the utilization of interdisciplinary approaches for obtaining “buy-in” from stakeholders of the domain of interest of the project.
Dr. Doria commented: "It was very inspirational to see great ideas of bright young thinkers about Quality Improvement projects that can make a difference in the lives of patients and colleagues of departments of radiology, anywhere in the globe. Congratulations to all residents and fellows who worked hard to put together technical and soft skills into the final assignment of the course."
One of the participants of the Leadership Course, Dr. Adam Min (Chief Resident - PGY4) commented: “I had a wonderful experience at the LQ2 Leadership Course. We covered a wide variety of leadership topics including; negotiation, financial literacy, operations management, and quality improvement. The in-person sessions were engaging, interactive, and fun. The skills I developed in the course can be applied during my residency and will certainly remain valuable for the rest of my career. Thank you, Dr. Doria and all the course faculty, for your fantastic teaching on these important topics.”
