About CPi

To succeed as a radiology leader today, skills beyond diagnosing images accurately and efficiently are needed. These skills should enable radiologists to make wise decisions about practice management at every level. Moreover, there has been growing emphasis of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (RCPS) on continuous quality improvement of medical specialties which certainly is a great incentive for further training of our trainees and overall workforce.

It is our intention that our workforce becomes better prepared to face challenges of rapid changes in the healthcare system and develops a stronger presence in discussions and actions that add value to imaging in our hospitals and healthcare systems.

Artificial Intelligence is an area that holds potential for implementing workflows and clinical activities, thus augmenting our roles as diagnosticians and interventionists within Medical Imaging. Building a strong workforce of future leaders of Medical Imaging is one of the pillars of our program, as is the cross-communication on successful Quality Improvement strategies among the different radiology departments of the hospitals affiliated to Medical Imaging.

Over the course of my term, I have been blown away by the strong interest of our community in Quality Improvement. I look forward to working together with you on opportunities to achieve a great positive impact on our clinical practice, taking advantage of the infrastructure from CQUIPS and other educational programs that are already available for us through the CPi program.

With this in mind, I look ahead to the future of our department and specialty and kindly invite you to join the CPi program and explore amazing opportunities to make a difference on the daily basis of our clinical specialty.  Together we can strengthen our roles as leaders of innovation and improvement in our communities and society and make the future of radiology brighter than ever. I truly count on you for the success of this journey.

With gratitude and respect,

Dr. Andrea Doria M.D., Ph.D., M.Sc., M.B.A. (She/Her)
