Excellence in Trainee Mentorship Award

Purpose
The Excellence in Trainee Mentorship Award recognizes Department of Medical Imaging faculty members who have shown significant commitment to mentoring our residents and fellows. Examples of mentorship may include helping trainees develop their professional careers while balancing the competing challenges of their personal lives, providing networking opportunities and assisting with teaching and/or research skills.

Award
This award will be presented annually to a maximum of three recipients. If there are no nominations by the deadline or the candidates do not meet the standard of excellence required for this award, it will not be given that year. 

The award recipient(s) will be notified directly and receive a framed certificate.  

Criteria and Nomination Process
The recipient(s) of this award must have a primary appointment Department of Medical Imaging at the University of Toronto; self-nominations are not permitted. Past recipients are eligible to be considered for this award every five years. 

The recipient(s) of this award must be nominated by at least one Department of Medical Imaging resident or fellow. After the nomination period has closed, eligible candidates, will be requested to provide: 

  • Brief statement to outline mentorship philosophy (250 words)
  • Up to date CV

Nominees who do not submit the above will not be considered for this award.

Selection Process
This award will be adjudicated by a committee chaired by a designated faculty member of the Department of Medical Imaging.
