Last week, the Department of Medical Imaging held it’s Spring 2025 Pediatric Imaging Division City-wide Rounds, organized by Dr. Mary-Louise Greer, Professor & Pediatric Imaging Division Lead, MI, and Dr. Cathy MacDonald, Assistant Professor, MI and hosted in-person at SickKids, as well as virtually.
The rounds included engaging talks from several MI faculty members, including Dr. MacDonald, The Hospital for Sick Children, who presented Ultrasound of the Neonatal Brain; Sandra Taves, Ultrasound Clinical Instructor, The Hospital for Sick Children, who presented Practical Tips for Acquiring Neonatal Brain Ultrasound; and Dr. Helen Branson, Assistant Professor and Pediatric Imaging Neuroradiologist, The Hospital for Sick Children, who presented Neonatal Brain MRI: the Basics! The evening finished up with a Q&A panel.
“It was a great event, we had fantastic talks from Cathy, Helen and Sandra, and we had a small but animated group in-person, and it was especially great to welcome sonographers from St. Michael’s Hospital and one of the radiologists from North York General Hospital,” Dr. Greer remarked. “We had an even bigger turnout online, with a group of neuroradiology fellows—who had signed in together—giving us shout-outs throughout the night.”
Dr. Greer also remarked that numerous attendees and invitees had requested a recording of the event. “I think attendees were really getting a lot out of it, based on initial feedback.”
Thank you to Dr. Greer and Dr. MacDonald for organizing these successful Spring rounds, and many thanks to speakers and attendees for helping to create such an engaging and educational event.
