1. What inspired you to pursue radiology after medical school?
My passion for photography – capturing moments in life – naturally aligned with radiology, where we capture the breadth of pathology in a single image. I was also drawn to the physics behind imaging, which allows us to visualize what would otherwise remain unseen.

2. What is the most rewarding aspect of working in radiology?
The opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from various specialties, deepening my understanding of clinical medicine while enhancing radiology’s role in patient care. Equally rewarding is interacting with patients and families, which fosters a compassionate approach to radiology.

3. How does your division of radiology impact patients and patient experience?
As the first dedicated pediatric emergency radiology division in Canada, we provide overnight diagnostic imaging to ensure seamless, round-the-clock care. This reduces turnaround times for imaging and reporting, optimizing care for acutely ill and injured children after hours.

4. What are some of the biggest highlights of your career so far?
Working at SickKids has been the pinnacle of my career – an experience that has reinforced the power of perseverance and teamwork. The collaborative spirit in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at SickKids is reminiscent of a championship sports team, where success is driven by strong leadership and a shared commitment to excellence.

5. Tell us something about you that might surprise your colleagues!
I believe in the power of small, consistent improvements – stacking up the 1%s. Success is never about a single moment. It’s unlikely you’ll find one thing that makes 100% difference, but if you improve 100 things by just 1% you’ll see a transformative impact. Small wins or tiny mistakes add up to define your life. The small choices you make today, will be seen next week, next month and for the rest of your life.
