Faculty wellness is of utmost importance and impacts all aspects of faculty engagement. The Voice of the Faculty survey, which was sent to all Temerty Faculty of Medicine faculty members in 2022, highlighted burnout among faculty and challenges with wellness, including within the Department of Medical Imaging. To address these issues, the Department has begun the process of establishing a Medical Imaging Faculty Wellness Working Group, which will review the data, identify areas for change and present strategies as well as systemic- and site-specific suggestions to mitigate burnout and improve faculty wellness.
The working group will be co-chaired by Dr. Linda Probyn, Vice Chair, Education and Dr. Tanya Chawla, Vice Chair, CPD & Division Lead, Abdominal Imaging, with Dr. Elsie Nguyen, Vice Chair, onSIDE & Division Lead, Cardiothoracic Imaging sitting on the committee as a member. The Faculty Wellness group, once established, will meet bi-monthly but may meet more frequently if needed. If you would like to join the Medical Imaging Faculty Wellness Group, please submit your expression of interest (EOI) to medical.imaging@utoronto.ca no later than November 20, 2024.
