Last week, the Department of Medical Imaging celebrated the graduation of two Nuclear Medicine Residents at Amsterdam Brewery in Toronto. Congratulations to the new nuclear medicine radiologists Dr. Darren Liu and Dr. Katarina Janic, who both also recently passed their Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Canada exams!
In attendance to celebrate the grads were Nuclear Medicine Residency Program Director Dr. Reza Vali, Nuclear Medicine Division Lead Dr. Amer Shammas, Adjunct Lecturer Dr. Danny Constantini and Education Programs Coordinator Jennifer Morris, as well as PGY6 Nuclear Medicine resident Dr. Hans Lafford.
What’s next for the nuclear medicine grads? After he finishes his final rotation, Dr. Liu will be doing locums at Trillium Health Partners hospital sites by the end of June, and is pursuing a full-time position with the health system. Dr. Janic, while unable to attend the celebration, has also secured a full-time position at a community hospital.
Congratulations, grads!
