Erin Alaia is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the New York University Grossman School of Medicine and has been a member of the Musculoskeletal Radiology Division faculty for six years.
Dr. Alaia’s research and professional expertise is primarily in sports imaging, with a special interest in the knee and postoperative imaging. She is also recognized for her expertise in MRI of Musculoskeletal Infection after being primary author of the Society of Skeletal Radiology White Paper on MRI Nomenclature for Musculoskeletal Infection. Most recently, she was awarded a Radiological Society of North America Seed Grant for a Comparative Effectiveness Study on the Utility of MRI for patients aged 50 and older with atraumatic hip and knee pain.
Dr. Alaia is a member of the International Skeletal Society and current chair of the Society of Skeletal Radiology Research Committee. She is regularly invited to speak at national meetings, including the International Skeletal Society, the Radiological Society of North America, the American Roentgen Ray Society, and the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine.
