Dr. Heba Hussein is a passionate breast imaging radiologist with clinical and academic experience across the Middle East, Canada, and the UK.
Dr Hussein’s research work focuses on advancing breast cancer detection, with a particular interest in optimizing screening strategies for women with dense breasts.
She has led and contributed to high-impact studies, including a systematic review and meta-analysis on supplemental breast cancer screening in women with dense breasts, as well as an award-winning investigation into the predictive value of apparent diffusion coefficient in ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS).
Dr. Hussein has also been actively involved in international clinical trials, such as the Tomosynthesis Mammography Imaging Screening Trial (TMIST), and collaborative research exploring imaging biomarkers and tumor heterogeneity in breast MRI.
Her work aims to refine diagnostic accuracy, improve risk stratification, and integrate advanced imaging technologies into breast cancer screening and diagnosis to ensure better outcomes, particularly for women with dense breast tissue.
Beyond research, Dr. Hussein is dedicated to medical education and mentorship, striving to shape the next generation of breast imaging specialists and contribute to the continuous advancement of the field.
