The Department of Medical Imaging of St. Michael's Hospital consists of 48 imaging rooms, including three CT scanners (two 64-slice units), three clinical MR units (one 3T), one 3T research MR unit, and three dedicated vascular and interventional suites (one biplane). The department is staffed by 21 full-time radiologists, each of whom has an area of special interest.
Thirteen regular radiology teaching rounds occur in the department weekly in addition to numerous other inter-departmental teaching sessions. Radiology staff are extensively involved in undergraduate teaching, as well as in the postgraduate teaching of residents and fellows. Fellowships are offered in Women's Imaging, Cross-Sectional Imaging, Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology, and in Vascular/Interventional Radiology.
