Dr. Andrew Brown has been appointed Program Director for the Interventional Radiology Residency Program commencing July 1, 2022.

Dr. Brown has long been an advocate for learners. As a medical student and resident, he taught leadership skills and competencies as part of the MD program’s leadership curriculum. For his efforts, he was awarded an MD Program Teaching Award of Excellence in 2019. As a staff physician, he hosted dozens of medical and undergraduate students for shadowing opportunities in IR and advocated for more IR exposure throughout the MD curriculum.

In a relatively short space of time, Andrew has become an invaluable member of staff at St. Michael’s Hospital and the department’s VIR division. He believes his strong commitment to teamwork will help when developing a cross-town VIR residency program, which will require support from a variety of stakeholders. Having a collaborative approach will provide this growing program with the best opportunity to succeed.
