Congratulations to MI’s new VC, EDI, Dr. Ankush Jajodia!

MI is excited to announce our new Vice Chair, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Dr. Ankush Jajodia! Dr. Jajodia will start his initial 1-year term on October 14, 2025, with possible extension of three years. In his new role, Dr. Jajodia will work to bring equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) to the forefront of the Department’s academic activities while also providing a lens and support on faculty appointments, promotions and academic human resources.

Over the course of his term, Dr. Jajodia will also be responsible for the development and implementation of an EDI committee, development and oversight of departmental EDI program strategic planning and creating opportunities to promote the EDI program, among others.

Dr. Jajodia is currently an Assistant Professor in MI as well as staff radiologist in abdominal imaging with the Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) at University Health Network, Mount Sinai Hospital and Women’s College Hospital, as well as deputy lead for junior faculty development with JDMI. He is also an active member of Research and Ethics at UHN’s Princess Margaret Hospital. He also currently sits on the National Advisory Committee at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Jajodia received his MBBS from S.C.B. Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, Odisha, India, in 2012, as well as a Diploma in Medical Radio-diagnosis from Goa Medical College and Hospital, India, and a Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Radiodiagnosis from Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre, New Delhi, India. He was awarded the National President Gold Medal for excellence in postgraduate training in India in 2019 and completed clinical fellowships in diagnostic radiology at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, and received numerous national and international awards from the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Korean Society of Radiology (KSR) and the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).

During his term, Dr. Jajodia hopes to enhance support for international medical graduates and creating clear, equitable career pathways for underrepresented groups. He also plans to integrate EDI principles across the Department, proactively address unconscious bias and develop and promote tools to address microaggressions, foster allyship and implement inclusive teaching strategies, among others.
