Journal Club

About the Journal Club

As part of the residency training program, Journal Club is held 2 times per year under the direction of the Chief Resident.  A topic/theme is chosen for each journal club with the goal of covering a wide range of subspecialities and multimodality imaging.  Topics relate to recently published literature and usually focus on emerging techniques, new imaging applications, or a comparison of intermodality diagnostic performance.  Three articles are selected for review by the Chief Resident with staff guidance, which then in turn are to be critically appraised and presented to the journal club attendees by three chosen residents.  Journal club is held at various venues across the city with encouraged attendance from staff, fellows and program administration.  Resident attendance is a mandatory part of the program.  Post journal club socials (usually at a nearby venue) are a recent addition to the evenings where there are opportunities for mingling and promoting program collegiality.
